Whyte’s 29er series hardtail frames are new for 2017 and use the same longer top tube, short stems and 720mm handlebars of their 27.5″ cousins. A 120mm fork with bolt-thru axle make the bike more capable when the trail gets rough too.
The frame is full of clever design features, such as extra mud clearance for all-weather usability, forward facing seat slot to keep rear wheel spray out of the frame, continuous outers for improved cable life and crud-catcher mounts on the downtube to keep the grit out of your eyes.
The 529 is exceptionally good value for such a quality frame and fast, confident ride. The 2017 model features Whyte’s unique Getta Grip seatpost clamp, which makes dropping the post for technical riding much easier.
