901 – 2016 model

With their long front ends, short chainstays, low bottom brackets and slack head angles, Whyte’s 900 series bikes are faster, more confident and more fun than any hardtail has a right to be. The testers agree, with MBR magazine awarding the 905 a perfect 10, and What Mountain Bike summing it up by saying: “Whichever option you pick from Whyte’s new 650b Trail Hardtail range, you’re onto a winner.”

“An absolute ripper that will put a massive smile on your face every time you ride it… 10/10″ MBR magazine part 1, part 2

“Every ride on the 901’s a buzz.” MBR magazine Whyte 901 revisited

The frame geometry of the 2016 901 is based around 40mm and 50mm stems (depending on frame size):

  • Rockshox Sektor Gold Solo Air 130mm fork, 15mm Maxle Light, adjustable compression and rebound, tapered steerer
  • 6061 hydroformed T6 aluminium frame, custom drawn and multibutted with Whyte’s unique ‘Get A Grip’ seatpost clamp and internal stealth dropper post routing
  • SRAM X5 2×10 drivetrain with GX Type 2 rear derailleur
  • SRAM 22-36 crankset
  • SRAM DB3 hydraulic disc brakes
  • Whyte Custom 760mm handlebar

  • Available in silver or magenta colour schemes

“Every once in a while, a bike comes along that defines a category. The Whyte 901 is one such bike; it’s the best trail hardtail bar none.” MBR magazine, December 2015
