Xelius EFi 400
Built with the same frame and color scheme as the official bike of Lapierre’s FDJ pro cycling team, the Xelius EFi 400 is the ultimate race machine for any aspiring rider that wants to go from the peloton to the podium.
The Xelius frame is constructed using Lapierre Efficient Frame Interactive (EFi) technology that was developed to optimize rider input and feel of the bike. The frame is built using single lay-up, monocoque construction that utilizes two different grades of carbon at specific zones to balance power and comfort. The head tube, down tube, and chain-stay represent the “power-zone” of the bike so we built these with single strands of high modulus carbon. The high modulus carbon offers a stiff pedaling platform that maximizes the power transmission from the cranks to the rear wheel creating an extremely efficient bike. Conversely, the Comfort Zone – top tube, seat tube and seat stay – are built with high resistance carbon that act to dampen upward forces on the frame such as potholes to create a smoother and more enjoyable ride. New carbons have been introduced for 2014 in the Xelius EFi frame that has dropped 80 grams, resulting in an overall 890-gram frame.
The Xelius EFi 400 FDJ comes equipped with a full Shimano Ultregra 11-speed groupset with the compact cranks, Lapierre’s full carbon fork, Shimano Ultregra/ Ultremo ZX 23c wheelset, Ritchey bar, stem, seat post and a Fi’zi:k Antares MG Saddle. Upgrade your race program with the Xelius EFi 400 and let the colors of Lapierre’s FDJ pro cycling team inspire you, all the way to the finish line.
