Xelius EFi 800
The crème de la crème of the race series is the Xelius EFi 800, a masterpiece of high performance carbon, built with no compromise, and equipped with the highest end components to bring the competitive edge for no-hold-bar racers reaching for the podium.
The Xelius frame is constructed using Lapierre Efficient Frame Interactive Technology (EFi) that was developed to optimize rider input and feel of the bike. The frame is built using single lay-up, monocoque construction that utilizes three different grades of carbon at specific zones to balance power and comfort. The head tube, down tube, and chain-stay represent the “power-zone” of the bike so we built these with single strands of high modulus carbon. The high modulus carbon offers a stiff pedaling platform that maximizes the power transmission from the cranks to the rear wheel creating an extremely efficient bike. Conversely, the Comfort Zone – top tube, seat tube and seat stay – are built with high resistance carbon that act to dampen upward forces on the frame such as potholes to create a smoother and more enjoyable ride. New carbons have been introduced for 2014 in Xelius EFi frame that has dropped 80 grams over the previous year, resulting in an overall 890-gram frame.
To match the beauty of this eloquent frame, no expense was made to outfit this bike. The Xelius EFi 800 is spec’d with one of the most technological advanced groupsets on the market, Shimano’s Dura Ace 9000 11 speed. 3T’s Team stealth ERGONOVA handlebar, ARX2 stem and STYLUS seatpoat, a Fizik Antares Carbon saddle, and Mavic’s R-Sys WTS 23c wheelset.
